ABOUT N’KIYLA jasmine thomas
A Voice for Every Oklahoma Family
N'Kiyla "Jasmine" Thomas is a proud Chickasaw citizen, registered nurse, and active-duty military spouse who understands the struggles of everyday Oklahomans because she's lived them. Born and raised in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Jasmine comes from humble beginnings and has dedicated her life to serving others through healthcare, advocacy, and community service.
Personal Story
For the past six years, Jasmine has been married to her husband Patrick, and together they're raising two incredible children. Their son Treycen was diagnosed with level 2 autism at age two, while their daughter Adeya is neurotypical. As a mother navigating the challenges of special education and therapy for her son while supporting her daughter's growth, Jasmine knows firsthand how difficult it can be for families to access quality healthcare and educational resources.
Healthcare Advocacy
As a registered nurse, Jasmine has witnessed the failures of our healthcare system and the burnout facing nurses across the country. When she encountered unethical practices and discrimination while pursuing her nursing education, she stood up and fought back—not just for herself, but for every future nurse who deserves a fair path to licensure. Her battle with the Tennessee Board of Nursing exposed corruption within the system and ignited her passion for policy change.
Fighting for Equality
Jasmine has been a lifelong advocate for LGBTQIA+ rights—her mother is gay, and she's seen firsthand the challenges that come with fighting for equality. She is equally committed to supporting survivors of domestic violence, ensuring they have access to the resources and support needed to break free from cycles of abuse and rebuild their lives.
Cultural Heritage & Identity
As a Black, White, and Native American (Chickasaw) woman, Jasmine brings a unique and powerful perspective to the political stage. She is dedicated to preserving tribal sovereignty and working alongside Native leaders to protect tribal land, rights, and cultural heritage.
Platform
Jasmine's platform is rooted in fighting for the underserved and unheard:
Healthcare: Addressing the nursing shortage and protecting women's healthcare rights
Infrastructure: Fixing Oklahoma's crumbling roads, bridges, and utilities
Agriculture: Supporting our farmers and ranchers with practical policies
Education: Ensuring quality resources for all children, including those with special needs
Civil Rights: Advancing equality for all Oklahomans
